Florida Sustainable Art: Dale Weber Assemblages
Perhaps, I do believe that every living thing deserves a second look and a second chance. – Dale Weber, Florida Sustainable Artist
I create objet trouve (found object) assemblages by recycling discarded items. I find cast offs in dumpsters, along railroad tracks, at construction dump sites, on the street, along the river, and wherever else they appear. I attempt to present a new perception by revealing the hidden worth found beneath a shabby exterior. My use of inanimate objects has been said to be a metaphor of the disenfranchised of today’s society, be it human or animal. Perhaps, I do believe that every living thing deserves a second look and a second chance.
Each assemblage tells a story or conveys a message that ranges from the philosophical to the whimsical. Each assemblage is uniquely different as the items I use to create it. My wish is for you to enjoy my artwork as much as I enjoy creating it. My ultimate goal is for you to view our world through new eyes.
