Gary Jackson is the Director of the Regional Economic Research Institute (RERI) and an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Lutgert College of Business at Florida Gulf Coast University. He is the editor of the monthly “Southwest Florida Regional Economic Indicator Report” and the quarterly “Horizon Council FGCU Business Climate Report.” The Institute provides students with experience completing research. Two current research projects are research in support of Workforce Now research projects and for the Southwest Florida Economic Development Alliance website.
Gary Jackson received his. Ph.D in economics from the University of Massachusetts and a Master’s Degree in economics and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Florida Atlantic University. He served on the North American NERC and NASBE committees dealing with electricity and natural gas markets, risk management, and policy. His research interests include economic forecasting and impact analysis, regulatory economics, industrial organization, and regional economic studies.
